Can A 46 Yr Old Really Get Muscular And Lean? Look!

by Mark McManus on January 21, 2010

ArminSixPackIf you’ve ever blamed your age for your physical conditioning, cut it out right now!

Armin, a 46 year old guy from Germany recently contacted me to express his interest in my upcoming ‘A Month Of Mass‘ Online Personal Training program (starts 1st Feb 2010 – contact me if interested).

In that email he told me of his awesome personal transformation and thanked me for providing the information I do at this website (no problem, my pleasure :)   ).

His testimonial was so powerful that I asked his permission to share it with you guys and if he could provide pictures. He was happy to oblige and help inspire anyone that needs that push to take ACTION on their desires.

Check it out…

“I started my transformation in mid November 2008 with 19% body fat and weighing 91 kg/200lbs.
Within several weeks on your THT and MANS programs, I began to change and my abs showed up. By June 09 I went down to about 14% body fat. That’s when I started your ‘Total Six Pack Abs‘ program for 8 weeks.

Everything went fine and from week to week I got nearer my goal of a six-pack. For the first time in my life I was close to real six pack.

People in the gym talked to me and asked me what I had done to achieve this.

A lot of things changed in my whole life. I was clear and focused in my thoughts. My job went better then ever. My relationship and sex-life also improved very much.

The feedback from the people around me was amazing. People who have never talked to me came to ask for advice.

People in the market or supermarket smiled at me, this  never happened before at such a high rate.

In July 2009 I started Total Six Pack Abs which helped me to lose these extra pounds of fat to get down to 10% Body Fat.

Due to a failure of my scale, I didn’t get the right feedback to get lower. But I’ve got a better scale for next summer. ;)

I convinced several people (men and women) to follow my new lifestyle and they also got great results, losing fat without even training.ArminAfter

With your website and information you are providing, I have found the screw for me to turn. It was that special aha effect which made me realise what I had previously done wrong during all those years of training and nutrition without results.

It would be a pleasure for me to show other people what they can reach too, even at 40+ years of age.

I always thought that I had a slow metabolism and bad genes which is pure nonsense. I just made too many mistakes in my nutrition and training, that is the truth.

I also GAINED around 7kg/15.4lbs of muscle during this process and I have a six-pack for the first time of my life.

Greetings from north Germany,

Armin”

Apart from the improvement to the midsection, I think one of the most impressive aspects of this is the development to the pecs, shoulders, and even the arms.

The process of defeat begins when you start to allow yourself to believe that you are powerless to change something. This is absolute B.S. and should play NO part in your life.

Armin didn’t have that belief and knew that it was a matter of finding the right strategy to make it happen. Congratulations Armin, and thanks for sharing this with all of us.

It’s time to smash through limiting beliefs, take ACTION and create the body and life that you want.

Your Buddy,

Mark

UPDATE!! Some people requested another ‘BEFORE‘ pic of Armin. He forwarded me the following one.————————————–>

I actually think it makes the transformation all the more impressive. Much more muscle and much less fat! I mean, DAMN, well done Armin!

Well done Armin. You look great man! I am only 21 but this is an inspiration even to me!

He looks good. I’d like to see before pictures. I’m finding it hard to believe that a 200 pound 19% going away in a few weeks! I’m not one to doubt easily but If you can get before pictures, can you post them? it’s more motivating for my 36 year old lazy body. :)

Thanks Mark!!

@Andrew. He didn’t do it in a few weeks.

4 john January 21, 2010 at 11:58 pm

Come on, it was too a few weeks, plus 30 more LOL!
November’08 to June ’09; just havin a littler fun witcha.
That is excellent, a great accomplishment.

@John. Yeah about 7 months on MANS to lose 5% body fat, then TSPA from 14% to 10%. Losing 5% @ 200lbs on MANS, which isn’t even a cutting diet, was a hell of a start.

Wow great story and great results, well done. Great motivation.

Well done Armin! I have just turned 42 and started training again last year after a 10 year break (I started originally when I was 19). Maybe when I feel confident enough I will put some photos up too…

Good job Armin.

Mark, you forgot to mention one of the biggest areas of improvements. The face. I’m amazed at how much younger many people look when they strip away the fat.

Thought I’d throw down these links for anyone who think they’re too “old” to get any benefit out of more activity/weightlifting:

http://www.fitnesstipsforlife.com/the-old-can-stay-young-with-weightlifting-new-study-says.html

So it’s not only that you look younger, your cells actually “act” younger.

Armin,
Great results bro, and thanks so much for sharing your story. It’s stuff like this that keeps me motivated, and gives me new goals to strive for. Thanks again!

Thanks guys. @Bill Thanks for those links man, something I think a lot of us lifters have long suspected.

I will be 46 next year and I feel and look better than ever before. Why? Because I started bodybuilding and took to fitness like never before. And I started at 42. As a child I was always fat, in my 20s and 30s my weight would constantly fluctuate. By Christmas of 2006, I had developed a tummy…couldn’t see my you-know-what anymore. Was terrifying!! From the 6th of Jan 2007 I started going to the gym, in 6 months lost 6 kilos…and since then have been on a strict workout plan. I work hard at the gym, follow my routines religiously, eat healthy (I do give myself the occasional liberty to enjoy a piece of chocolate cake every few weeks!). So in short, age is no barrier in starting and wanting to look good and build a strong and mascular physique. By the way, thanks Mark for posting and sharing. Armin, well done!!

@Mark
Sorry, I missed the 6 month part. I saw at 19% BF, “Within several weeks on your THT and MANS programs, I began to change and my abs showed up”. This got me immediately wanting to see pics. The body fat loss makes all the difference. I think if a lot of us were lower BF, we’d quite impressed with our muscles.

to clarify -it’s excellent, but notice a few critical things: tanning, cuts hair and most importantly, shaves body hair – this also dramatically impacts perception of contour and muscle definition….

15 Mark McManus January 22, 2010 at 5:52 pm

Just commenting to notify you guys of an update. Armin sent me another ‘before’ pic because some of you were asking for it. I think it makes it all the more impressive – see the bottom of the article for the pic.

16 Andrew Mast January 22, 2010 at 6:19 pm

Wow, from man boobs to chest rockets! Very good work. Thanks for posting that new pic!

17 Armin January 23, 2010 at 10:14 am

Thank you guys for all your compliments regarding my transformation. Some of you ask for another before pic. I send it to Mark so he could update his articel. Its a realy bad picture of me, being totally out of shape. But with the right information from Mark i found my way to have the body i dreamed of for so long.

Nice work Armin! I’m 37, over the past two years I’ve gotten stronger and bigger than ever. Now it’s my season to shed the ‘fat jacket’. In 12 weeks I plan on dropping 20 lbs of fat. This will bring me to 9% BF. Inspiring story ,thanks again.
