Experiment: Gain 1/2 Inch On Your Arms In A Week!

This is a first for MuscleHack!

I’m VERY excited to announce that I want to conduct an online experiment, the goal of which is to increase the size of your arms by at least a half an inch in 1 week!

Since the beginning of summer ’09 I’ve been busy researching behind the scenes. I’ve come to some potentially powerful theoretical conclusions and need volunteers to see how they translate into the real world.

While I won’t spend time right now explaining the theory or WHY I’m asking you to do this or that, I will detail the full protocol to those suitable candidates.

You’ll actually be doing less work in terms of time, but with crazy intensity in terms of effort! You are going to absolutely blitz your arms in a micro-workout!

The workout will be super-short but will be the most intense arm-day of your life!
Please note that your body will want to stop short of the intensity I will recommend. You will HAVE to use your mind to overcome this obstacle.

Is half an inch in a week a lofty goal? Sure it is. But there’s a pertinent saying here…

Shoot for the moon, even if you miss you’ll land among the stars

So let’s aim high and see where it gets us. It’s an experiment after all.

Here’s how it’s going to go down…

I want about 20-30 people for this experiment. Suitable candidates must…

* Know what training to REAL failure is and already do this on a regular basis.

* Be prepared to take next week OFF training (except for the arm training itself). This current week (commencing Monday 16 November 2009) will be your last week of regular training. Next week you will train 1 day only – the arm workout I will give you.

* Be on a bulking cycle i.e. not currently cutting.

* Have a tape measure or myotape and be prepared to take daily arm measurementsfloor pulley.

* Must own or have access to the following equipment:

- Floor pulley i.e. a machine with a pulley on the bottom of the frame, mostly used for cable rows =>

- Preacher Curl Bench

stirrup attachment

- Preferably, the following attachment: Stirrup cable attachment =>

- Barbell/Dumbbells

* Be willing to do what I say i.e. there may be temptation to do more or less than what I recommend. To find out whether or not this protocol works as effectively as I think it might, you need to stick to the program as designed.

* A positive attitude and an ability to self-motivate yourself is always nice too ;)

So the first step is to register your interest if you meet the above criteria.

Age, gender, training experience etc. aren’t deciding factors. I want enthusiasm, passion and a willingness to REALLY go for it.

Wow I can’t wait to see how this works out. I won’t be able to participate in it right now however, I’m too into my THT cycle. If the results are good (ie. 1/2 inch in one week) I’ll finish my current cycle, take a week off then do this!

WOW its really sounds crazy. It’s been long since I am actually trying to increase the size of my arms. I have tried all different methods. But to increase 1/2 inch in a week is just like yo I have to do it.
I’m all ready for the final assault. Take me there Mark….

Sounds like an interesting experiement Mark, unfortunately I don’t really train minor bodyparts like biceps/triceps, I tend to just concentrate on large compound movements like squats, deadlift, bench press, shoulder press, pull-ups, seated rows etc. It may explain why my arms have never really gotten any bigger than 15.5 inches…

Hi Mark,

I normally train one to two times a week, but skipped the training the last two weeks, cause I was on the road.

If this does not hurt the experiment, I would be glad to join.

Good post, a 1/2inch in a week seems a little to good to be true. I have read a routine some where called the 1 inch arm cure and reckons you can add 1 inch in 1 day

Hi Mark. I think I see where you’re going with this and I really like it. In the past I’ve certainly been able to achieve 1/2 inch of muscle growth in my arms over the course of a week. Like you’re alluding to you’ve definitely got to focus your efforts wholeheartedly on a few specialization techniques and supplementation secrets, but it can be done. Good luck too anyone who takes Mark up on this cool offer — even if you don’t hit your target, you will add some size to your arms!

How’s it going with the trials Mark – can we all have a go?
I’ve been struggling for ages with my arms. They are stronger and better defined, but not much bigger.

Hope that the exercises are not all on cables and other specialist equipment… I train at home with dumbbells and ezbar!

@Keith, and anyone else that was asking. The trial is over and I (and others) am VERY pleased with the results :) .
I will be announcing the results soon and may put up the routine for others to try. Cables are used though, Keith. It may be able to be adopted to free weights though with the same results.
The next step is this: If we can get the results we did for 1 body part in 7 days, what can we do with a similar protocol for the WHOLE body in a month?! My mouth is watering just thing about it. :)

its just a joke yes u can get half and inch in a week but its only when your muscles are pumped like when ur working out

This was nothing to do with a temporary pump. In fact, the gains were measured a few days after the workout after the body had rested and performed no further workouts.
