I've seen a few other diets/research too...most notable is in one of Dr Nicholas Perricone's books on healthy skin, essentially his healthy skin diet is low carb as generally speaking his theory is that high carb type foods create inflamation in your body.

Hey, I just started this as well. I've seen other research that may suggest this diet isn't just for body building, but can also be beneficial to runners and other athletes as well. It's very similar to the "eat like a caveman approach," in that most rice, grains weren't even consumed until as late as 10,000 years. Paleo men were eating about 55% of their diets as protein from meat, and the rest as veggies and healthy fats. The suggestion is, then, that our bodies cannot yet effectively and healthily process this new form of energy (grains, wheat especially). We should stick to what our bodies can process most efficiently, and what yields the most energy per serving.

Have to agree with all these posts...I've been loosely following the mans diet over the past three weeks, has been very difficult to stick to it totally as have been moving house but your science etc behind the mans diet is solid - I've finally gotten past the plateau i always get stuck at that no amount of cardio or weights seems to get me past!

Keep up the good work Mark.
