Question: Mark, will lifting weights stunt my growth?
Short answer to this one: Noooooo. lol
Placing a weight on your body does absolutely nothing stop the genetically pre-determined process of human growth. And remember, you’re proably training 3-5 hours a week. Most of that time is actually spent resting between sets. So time under load is probably closer to 1.5 – 2 hours a week out of a total of 168 hours. Seriously, you’ve nothing worry about.
In fact, training with weights generates an increase in growth hormone release. So if anything, training will help you maximize that genetic potential for height. So now you know.
